Where is God?

My beloved brother-in-law was in a terrible accident last week.  The kind where you get flown to the largest hospital in 5 states and spend almost a week in ICU.  The kind where he'll spend at least the next month somewhere other than in his own bed.

The kind where you pack in an hour to drive ten just to be there beside him.

And I know this might sound crazy but I saw God all over the place.  Everywhere I heard him whispering this was all part of the plan - it had all been sifted through his fingers.  The tendency, of course, is to ask where the heck are you?  But over the last two years of very intense life in our house (Ally's birth and her surgery, Anya's adoption, and now D's accident) I have found repeatedly when I look and say, "thank you" He is everywhere.

So here once again I set up a Marker, so I can remember all the ways I saw God in the midst of this storm.  Please feel free to add to it in the comment section!

  1. yes we always think that if God is with us everything must go well, right?.. HA! well, thats just not God. and his definition of 'good' and 'well' goes beyond our little minds.

hope your brother in law gets better soon. my MIL had an horrible accident some years ago, and she wasnt expected to be walking like in 6 months, but she was in 1 month!
